Melissa Francis

Melissa Francis is a leadership strategist and executive coach with 25+ years of experience across global development, government, and the nonprofit sector. A former senior U.S. Foreign Service leader, she brings emotional intelligence, cross-sector insight, and operational depth to her work with purpose-driven professionals and teams.
An ICF Associate Certified Coach, certified executive and career coach, and member of the Mid-Atlantic Facilitators Network, Melissa partners with values-driven leaders in the nonprofit, public, and social impact sectors. Her work has empowered hundreds of leaders—at all levels—to navigate complexity, lead with purpose, and create sustainable impact in their communities and institutions. She is especially passionate about supporting people through pivotal transitions—helping them unlock clarity, confidence, and momentum.
Melissa holds a master’s degree in political science with a focus on international development and public administration and a B.A. in English with a minor in Psychology.
